The association Volontaires Européens Sud is organizing a seminar entitled :

Culture to include. In search for innovating cultural activities fostering social inclusion

(Culture pour inclure. A la recherche d'actions culturelles novatrices pour l'inclusion sociale)

Dates: 13th-16th may 2010
Place: MARSEILLE

Objectives

- bring together volunteers engaged in social, cultural or socio cultural activities in the frame of the european year for combatting poverty and social exclusion. 

- confront and highlight their experiences and work on developping new projects in the field. 

Summary

The seminar will tackle the following issues:

1/ experiences and projects of the participants in the field of socio-cultural activities.

2/ the different method and approches implemented by the participants and the structure they are involved in (e.g. EVS structure for former EVS volunteers or association for professionnals of the sector) to foster social inclusion through cultural activities. 

3/ Youth in Action Programme as a tool to develop the project of the participants and to give ex EVS volunteers an opportunity to "keep the spirit of their EVS alive".
4/ case study through the presentation of local and innovating initiatives and study visits to local structures involved in the field. 

Participants

Fomer EVS Volunteers that have realised a social, cultural or socio cultural project or that have an interest or are

currently involved, professionnaly or not, in a socio-cultural activity. 

Participation costs

A participation to the cost of 15€ will be asked to each participant. 

The association VES will bear the rest of the food, lodging and transportation costs to the seminar
(Reimbursement of transportation cost subject to certain conditions)
